One World, One High School

The Amazing Hightstown High Tribute to the UN Charter

I received a 32 foot-long folded book, about 2 inches thick, with the works of over 50 students from a high school in New Jersey. The work really stuck to the themes I outlined in the invitation more than any other participants. Apparently each student chose a theme and illustrated it. Collectively, it was one of the more moving pieces of work I received for the show. This is what it said on the back cover:

"We the students of Hightstown High School, Hightstown New Jersey, have sent our art works via US Mail to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United Nations in the One World Postal Art Show. Hightstown High represents a multi-cultural diverse community with 42 different languages spoken at home."
